Get Your Living Room Ready for the Big Game

Storage for the big game

People all around the country will be throwing watch parties for this weekend’s big game. While you want your house to be filled with rowdy fans and the smell of delicious game day foods, you don’t want it to be packed with excess clutter. It’s important that you and your guests have plenty of room to cheer on your team and watch the year’s best commercials in comfort. Here are some tips on how to get your living room ready for this Sunday:

Tip 1. Consider renting a big screen TV! The television is the center piece of any watch party, and this is a game that deserves to be viewed in the best quality possible. If your TV isn’t up to par, consider storing it and renting a large flat screen. Surround sound and HD can really take your party to the next level.

Tip 2. Try rearranging your furniture to create more space. Reposition your sofa and larger chairs and remove all ottomans.  If the sofa is moved up against the wall without the ottomans, you will have more space to set up and enjoy your entertainment system. Just make sure the sofa is facing toward the TV so that your guests can sit or stand to watch the game.

Tip 3. Put away delicate and unnecessary objects. You might not gain much space from moving your decorations or standalone lamps, but you should find them a new home for the time being. That way, you and your guests can jump around in celebration without accidentally knocking something over. Removing things like picture frames and trinkets will also clear up some table space for people to place their food and drinks.

Tip 4. Give your guests other things to do. It’s nice to provide activities for people to do before and after the game or even during half time. If you have some outdoor space, think about buying fun tailgate games like washers or bags. No need to get rid of them after the party; just put them in storage until football season returns again.

Tip 5. Move your belongings to a safe place. Self storage is an excellent option for storing furniture or other belongings temporarily. If you need to create extra space and move things out of your home, consider renting a secure self storage unit. With peace of mind, you will be able to enjoy the big game, or any festive occasion, knowing that your belongings are safe and accessible.
